Pacific Rim

With all the hype in Facebook saying that Pacific Rim is a must watched movie, I “reluctantly” agree to watch it. Despite all the boring & cliche GodzillaXRobocopXTransformer-no-real-story-line, I have to admit that the movie has some good values for us to learn;

1. 2 is better than 1, and 3 will make it merrier. Those Jaegers aren’t designed to be piloted by a single person. You can push yourself to go solo but you’ll get burnt out.
2. A Jaeger’s pilots are connected, they can see and feel each other’s mind and that creates a great synergy that controls the Jaeger. This is of course a perfect recipe of team work. If you can understand my perspective and I can understand yours, we can create a powerful synergy. Also, we’ll avoid unnecessary arguments because I understand you.
3. Memory is the enemy of being in the present. A Jaeger pilot should control their memory and they can’t linger in a particular memory as it will misaligned the system. Just like this life, we can’t keep looking at the past if we want to enjoy the present. While memories can push you to do better, memories could also hold you back – especially if you linger on the good ones. I guess what we need to do is to create new memories.
4. Lastly of course, we need to take care of our world, ensuring that we leave a healthy and liveable world for the next generation.

Ookays, my last point was so absurd.. and even the other points. I can’t concentrate writing with 2 AC engineers here at the apartment :[

75 days after I do

So here we are today, 75 days into our marriage :) it’s such a short time of this lifetime journey and I’ve been enjoying every single day of it. As we haven’t recorded anything after the wedding, I’ll list down our memorable things:

– your first full body massage at Endota Fitzroy. Just perfect after a week full of family frenzy!
– Singapore minimoon with its Universal Studio trip. You got pretty bad cold sweat before riding roller coasters… Heheheh
– moving to Bandung! Thank you for preparing the apartment for me :)
– trip around Bandung/Lembang and culinary experience
– your first ‘big’ YesHeis.com presentation at Ignite conference
– Jogja trip and its Ramayana Ballet. Thank you for taking me there. It was magical.

Thank you for the new adventure and the love <3

I’ve decided…

I’ve decided to love you no matter what… It is not about feeling or circumstance… Love is a decision. My life is better with you besides me… I want to wake up in the morning and learn to love you in a new way… every morning… by God’s grace.

I love you… no matter what.

43 days to go

43 days to go to our wedding and tonight we’ll meet at Perth! So exciting   

I’m excited to try on my wedding dress as well!! Just a bit more to go now… hihihi

At this stage, we still need to work on;
visa papers,
cake,
florist,
order flowers for church,
church décor,
photo in canvas,
AV at Sumac,
souvenir,
follow up people to RSVP,
car allocation for the day,
bridesmaids’ dresses,
wedding ring,
your return tix to Melbourne,
packing for SC,
program & menu,
engagement video,
seating plan,
talk to Hadi & Val,
practice our dance!

Whoa.. so many things on the list and so little time now…

Good to have a note

I miss you… Can’t wait to see you this weekend.

I remember that I wrote a blog for you, 100. I went there and read few posts… Interesting… Our early days weren’t a smooth ride but we went through it. It’s very interesting to see where we are now… 70 days before the wedding… (maybe less)

I can’t wait to spend my rest of life with you.

Love you

2 weeks in Bandung.. What a journey…

In the last 2 weeks, I have learn a lot about leadership. One key thing in leadership is humility. Humility (adjectival form: humble) is the quality of being modest and respectful.

With humility, we will able to listen, to be empathy, to care, to understand and to see deeper than what’s seen.

I know that God has brought me personally to this stage with a lot of preparation. I was trained in Kurioz, Swinburne and MPC as well as built as a better person. I believe that this role is a foundation for a greater work.

2 weeks in Bandung has also trained me to think about you more… To teach me what’s important in my life… is it my future? my work? my passion? my calling?

No it isn’t… more than anything… the most enjoyable time during the past 2 weeks in Bandung is the time we skype, we whatsapp, I got miss called from you…  The most exciting times are the times that I tried to contact you, looking for internet or signal just to talk to you…

I know now… The bigger purpose for my trip…

If you remember when I stated my intentions in Wabisabi 2 years ago… I mentioned that “I am letting go my dream… my vision… my calling… Let it be our dream… our vision… our calling…

The thing that I am proud of now is… having a God-loving future wife… named Jessica Neva Liauw.

I love you…

and THANK YOU for being a great support for me :)

As a wedding professionals for 7 years… I wasn’t aware that wedding preparation is really tough. I know that wedding is 2nd big day of our life… (the 1st is when we met Jesus for the 1st time)… However I didn’t realize it needs a lot of hard work, emotion, thoughts and energy to it. This period is also tested the relationship… not only the getting-to-be-married couple but also all relationships… with the parents, parents to parents, siblings etc…

Now I realize that 2 people who stand in the altar to be married… They’ve been through a lot… Maybe that’s why most people cry :)

A friend of mine, Heda, remain me to keep praying and focus on the relationship instead the preparation… For me to focus to you and our love… and for you to focus to me and our love as well… Somehow great things… 2 God-loving Christians to be married is a threat to the kingdom of darkness… So it is normal to have so many challenges.

I have decided again today to love you… to fight for you again… to chase you…. though with all limitations (distance, time, etc)

Let us fix our eyes to our relationship and each other… more than that… to God.

This past weekend was so far the busiest weekend in 2013.

Morning: make up trial at Chadstone. I like the make up but hair do wasn’t flattering.. bingung!
Noon: Auntie’s Dumpling with Aldrick & Evans
Mid afternoon: Ocep, Bram & Wiwi’s bday at Point Cook
Late afternoon: hospital visit for Temmy & Mer
Evening: dinner for Aris’ farewell
Late evening: picking up jars

This weekend was a big wake up call for most people at church. What happened to Temmy shocked a lot of people and yes, they started to look at their diet. I’m really sad for Temmy… but we should believe that he will recover 100% and has no brain damage or else.

On the brighter end, my heart went boom boom boom when you sent me the picture of our wedding bands! How exciting!!!

I kinda hate Sunday without you. Being with no one on a Sunday afternoon somehow makes me feel sad but of course, I don’t want to feel sorry for myself. The risk is, I spoil myself too much when I’m alone. I went shopping for new exercise outfit *oops!* and a new rice cooker and 2 cakes! *oh no!!!* Anyway.. I do justice for my new exercise outfit as I went for an hour walk in the neighbourhood. Also, Bemo and Aldrick tried on their groomsmen outfit just now. Their vests were ridiculously! Such a waste of fabrics but thankfully the rest are fine. Finger crossed that the girls’ dresses will be just fine. I miss you lots!

Day 1 after you went to Sunshine Coast and I’m back to my routine here in Melbourne. Feeling tired now after sitting the whole day in front of the computer and yes, feeling so sleepy :l however still thankful that I could start this morning quite slow because I went to Bee’s dad funeral. So far I’ve been to 2 funerals then, one Bule and one Chinese-Buddhist. “Interesting” juga ya.. How are you going on your first day in Sunny Coast? Me missing you badly but I promise that I’ll stay strong :) xx
