Growing up, I find joy in watching proposal videos on youtube / vimeo. There’s something magical in each video, regardless of the recording quality is or the cheesiness level of the proposal. I’m always amazed of guys who put up creative proposals and even more amazed if that happened to be very ‘lame’. I believe that guy must be head over heels as no sane person would do it. And as a girl, I always imagine how I would feel if I were the one getting that proposal.
Fast forward to earlier this year, I still find the magic in each proposal video but being with you, I’m just not into it anymore. Probably because now I know that some of the videos aren’t even real at all. Lol.
Fast forward to earlier this week, I had this feeling that you would pop the question at some point. You couldn’t contain your excitement and kept pushing me to be free on the weekend. On Monday, however, you said I can do my Saturday pilates but ‘begging’ me to not go to Wednesday prayer meeting. Well well.. can’t you be more obvious my dear?
So yup, Wednesday, 10 October 2012. You said you’ve arrived at South Yarra early and that it’s raining so you wanted to pick me at the station. You were there when I arrived, all smile and handsome. We walked to my apartment and I saw helium balloons and the most amazing photos linings on the entrance of my apartment. I panicked for a while, thinking that you’ve called in the whole troops to come. Fortunately it was only Faz and his camera. Lol.
The photos told a beautiful story: mine, yours and ours. I never knew that we have that much photos, I always felt that we rarely took pictures. You put notes on each photo and Train’s ‘Marry Me’ was playing in the background. Despite your attempt to memorize the lyric and all, you failed. Please don’t try to impress me by singing again Sayang, I’ve accepted that you’re not a singer :3 The moment was beautiful and quite personal (due to several neighbour interruptions). I love all the DIY! Thank you for your effort. I could see that you’re nervous as when you cut the bear open (omooo!!), you didn’t even read the paper. Yes, that was impressive as well. I never knew someone who put a proposal question inside a teddy bear, and keep it in there as a secret for 20 months! Thank you, for being serious with this relationship from the very beginning.
Thank you Phodi for yesterday, for making me very special. I look forward for our days together.
Love,
Jessica
P.S. Thank you Faz & Dion, for capturing the memories and make it special :)
