Singleness
Sep.23,2012So today I’m being reminded again on the notion of singleness. The notion that we should be a whole single person, so we can fill each other in a relationship without being drained by each other.
Today you’re going to Indonesia after your short trip to Sunny Coast. With my dear housemate having 6 weeks holiday as well (and that she’s going to Bathurst in a month time), I have million reasons to be sad and depressed.
So yes, today after church I couldn’t spend time with you, like we always do. I felt like I was thrown back in time when I was single and enjoying my ‘me time’. Something that I can’t imagine enjoying now. Not that I don’t need a ‘me time’..but I love it when I can call you when I feel like to, or even to text you and know that you’re there, not somewhere where you’re inaccessible.
Anyway, I’m excited for your Sunny Coast opportunity. I’m not sure what will happen to me if you move up north. Not sure about what I can do to make my life meaningful and interesting up there. Yet one thing I’m sure of, if it’s God’s will, God will make a way. I’ve experienced too many “lucky” things happened in my life, that I know now I can’t run away from my God and his plan.
And as you said, your trip to Indonesia will hopefully be a “2 minggu untuk selamanya”. Not to selamanya pisah sama aku, but to be selamanya kita together. I love you Phodi, and I’m excited for us.
Thank you God for Jessica. A beautiful lady that You entrusted to me to be taken care of. Thank you for a great potential in her life. If she can do great things by herself Lord… I believe that we, the three of us can amazing things…
Teach me Lord to love her, to listen to her, to care about her… Teach us Lord to walk this journey together. To dare to take decision and risk together.
Lord, put in her heart what you’ve put in mine and vice versa. Let her see my blind spots… Let us grow together… And run this race together.
Life is only once… And Lord I want to enjoy and be maximum in it… Yet Lord… with her I am enough
Teach us to number our days,
that we may gain a heart of wisdom. (Psalm 90:12 NIV)
Teach us to realize the brevity of life,
so that we may grow in wisdom. (Psalm 90:12 NLT)
I watched In Time, a film about when time is the currency. Every seconds, minutes, month, year is precious. Everyone got to work to earn the time. There is an area called ghetto where everyone lives from day to day. They are in need of time. Everyone runs and do everything fast. Then there is an area called New Greenwich, where all the rich people live. They move slow, take it easy… They have years in their hand, even decade, century…
This movie remains me on how precious time is… How precious a day is… A lot of time we get bored with our life, we are taking easy with our life… But that time will end. In that movie, everyone knows their time and when it will end… Unfortunately, in the real world… We don’t know how much time that we have. We don’t when will our time stops…
“There’s a lot we can do in a day” said in that movie. Yes, indeed… There is a lot we can do in a day… A day is enough to share our love to our love ones…
I want to treassure everyday… Each seconds and minutes…
This week, you are in Thailand having a holiday with tour family… I have to admit that I miss you… I miss the days that we spend together, the time we chat, cook, watch TV, or just be quiet beside each other… I want to treassure each day with you… I want to say that I love you today Jessica… Everyday
As I turned back the last 28 years in my life, there’s only 1 phrase that concludes the journey of my life… It is “God’s faithfulness”
Age 28 was one of the best age so far as there are a lot of important decisions taken and there are some changes in certain areas in my life.
Exactly last year, I didn’t know how I will make a living… I was volunteering in MPC, editing The Composer. It was tough yet it has shaped me to be a mature man.
I was in debt to ATO, Minuteman Press, and 33AD. It was approx $20.000. And I didn’t know how to pay it. Decided to stop Kurioz and try to find a full time job. Everything seems so blur.
One thing that I thanked God for is Jessica. She is my inspiration to keep pressing on and encouraged me to be what I am today. She allowed me to be her man and she respects as she always does.
Then everything started to be better. I got a job in qube… Then Swinburne. Got to experience working in a small studio which opened my eyes about small business in Australia. Also got one of my want-to-try-role, Marketing and Communications role in my very own University, Swinburne.
By God’s grace, I paid off my debt in February and all credit card debt is fully paid. Amazingly, I can save as well.
How God turned $20.000 to $20.000 savings. Amazing.
Today, I am here and amazed by His plan in my life. How he trusted me is beyond my understanding. I want to surrender to Him. Everything.
“Don’t put yourself in a box… the reality is, leadership builds up as you grow… and we rarely see someone as young has such confidence in the workplace” (CFO Scope, 15 Dec 2011)
